Scott companies are committed to protecting your privacy.

During your contact with Scott, you can share with us your personal data so that we can identify you as an individual (for example, your full name, email address, address of residence and telephone number). This is your "personal data".

This privacy policy statement applies to the protection of personal data that we collect so that we can provide you with our products and services. By using this site or disclosure of your personal data through our services you accept the procedures described in this statement on the protection of personal data.

Processing of personal data

Scott collects, records and processes personal data of customers and users of our products and services. The data is provided by private individuals (hereinafter referred to as "data subject") through the contact to purchase a product, compliance with the warranty, ensuring of business and marketing communication, acquisition of new colleagues.

Personal data is always processed in accordance with the Privacy policy and the General Regulation on the Protection of personal data. Personal data is processed in a lawful, appropriate and transparent manner for a specific and explicit purpose. The processing of personal data is limited to what is necessary and the duration of storage of personal data is limited to the time necessary for the processing purposes. Personal data will be adequately protected by appropriate technical and organizational measures.

Scott processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • for the fulfillment of contractual relationships;
  • customer relationship management;
  • provision of information on changes to our services and products;
  • performance of internal operations;
  • compliance with legal obligations.

This data, provided with consent, or in an automated manner, will be stored and processed in the database of Scott.

You can find the data about the shared administrators of the processed personal data at the end of this statement. Information is handed over within holding companies on a transparent basis.

I) Processing of log files

Within the context of access to its website, Scott processes log files on access to these web pages, in order to protect its legitimate interests lying in the ensuring of protection of the web pages and improvement of their functioning.

The log files are then processed without the consent of the visitor of the web page and are kept for a period of 1 month from visiting the website.

The processing of these log files will be carried out by Scott itself, or it shall be entrusted to a third party, in particular, any other company of the Scott group; the processing of log files is carried out by Scott in respect of the following data which may (or may not) include the website visitor's personal data:

  • the web page from which a visitor visited the Scott website;
  • the IP-address;
  • date and time of access;
  • any visitor´s query;
  • http response code;
  • transmitted data groups;
  • information about the browser and operating system of the website visitor's computer.

II) Use of cookies files and website analysis

Other data is automatically collected through cookies files and other systems or applications for the collection of information. Scott uses technical, functional, analytical and tracking "cookies". A cookie file is a small text file stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you first visit the website. Our "cookies" are necessary for technical functioning of the website and its user-friendliness. They enable proper functioning of the website and remember for example its settings. They enable you to optimize your web pages. You can opt-out from tracking through cookies by the setting of your Internet browser so that no cookies are saved. All previously stored information may also be deleted from your Internet browser.

Google Analytics and Google Ads

To analyze the web pages using cookie files Scott uses the Google Analytics service, developed and operated by Google Inc., with registered office at Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google").

Analysis using the Google Analytics service proceeds so that the information about the use of this website generated by the cookie files collected are transferred to a Google server in the USA and there subjected to appropriate analysis. As a result of anonymization of IP addresses, which is set up on the Scott website, before transmission of the data to a Google server in the USA, IP addresses are shortened on the part of Google, in one of the Member States of the EU or the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases, the full IP address is transferred to a Google server in the USA and only then shortened (anonymized).

Google shall not combine the transferred data, inclusive of the short-form IP addresses with any other data. The Google personal data protection statement is available here.

The collection of cookies and their analysis through Google Analytics service may be prevented by the website visitor by appropriately changing the browser settings.

Within the framework of Google Analytics service, Scott also uses related advertising functions provided by Google, such as viewing reports in the Google advertising network, expanded reporting of anonymous demographic data (e.g., age, gender, interests) or display of ads in the content network, based on viewed product (called remarketing), inclusive of Google Ads service used to personalize ads and the improving of targeting of advertisements and remarketing. Thanks to this it may then offer to visitors to its website advertising content that will be as interesting to them as possible.

Personalization of advertising may be turned off or modified by Scott webpage visitor through their Google account.

III) Processing of personal data for the sending of a newsletter

In the case of interest of the visitor of the web pages in the sending of a newsletter and other promotional communication, for these purposes Scott shall process, on the basis of a consent, the personal data provided by such a visitor, in the minimum extent of the e-mail address. If the visitor of Scott provides also their identification information (name, surname, date of birth), Scott shall for these purposes process also this data. The content of the newsletter and other promotional communication may be personalized on the basis of the data and other information provided in order to personalize the content, which Scott determines from the visitor's behavior on the website, or through the newsletter.

The visitor's personal data will start to be processed by Scott only after the visitor fills out the relevant form to order the sending of a newsletter and other promotional communications with their information.

The personal data provided is processed up to the time of withdrawal of the consent granted. The processing of personal data itself shall be carried out by Scott itself, or the latter shall entrust a third party to do so, in particular, any other company of the Scott group, of which it is a member.

Consent to this processing of personal data (including its transmission to some of the companies of Scott Group and thus also within the EU framework) is entirely optional, and may be withdrawn at any time, both by the sending of a notice of withdrawal of consent in writing to the address of the Scott registered office (see above), as well as by clicking on this link: here. The consent granted may also be withdrawn by clicking on the link "Unsubscribe Scott Newsletter" contained in the newsletter received or in an advertisement. Without the granting of consent sending of Scott advertisements is not possible.

IV) Use of social plugins

The Scott company website also contains social plugins of third-parties, through which website visitors may share content with their friends and other contacts. These are:

  • LinkedIn plugin, maintained by LinkedIn Corporation, 1000 W. Maude Avenue, 94085 Sunnyvale, CA, USA.
  • Twitter plugin, maintained by Twitter Inc., 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, 94103 San Francisco, CA, USA.

Please note that these social plugins are not maintained by Scott, who is therefore not responsible for any personal data processing by the above operators (administrators) of these plugins or webpages to which they refer to, or their functionality and possible damage that may be caused by them.

Provision of personal data to third parties

Scott Group will provide the processors or affiliated companies with personal data only if such is necessary for the implementation of our agreement with you or in order to fulfill any legal obligations, or if such is required by legitimate interest of the company while being compatible with the purpose of the processing. Your personal data will be handled in a transparent manner.

Companies that process your data in our order are party to an agreement with us, or we have other data protection tools to guarantee the same level of security and confidentiality of your data.

Rights of the data subject:

If you wish to consult, modify, correct, transfer, restrict or delete your data, you may, free of charge, send an email to the address dpo@Scottautomation.be, provided that you submit a valid identification of the data subject. In this manner and in the same way, you can also lodge an objection against the processing of personal data or in order to terminate communication. The data will be modified or deleted in accordance with the valid terms and conditions of processing and in accordance with our technical capabilities. Your request will be processed as soon as possible and within a reasonable time limit. Your request will be complied with only in the case that there are no other grounds for the processing of personal data or interests of the company to process the data, e.g. in order to meet legal obligations. If we should become aware of data leaks that would threaten your rights and protection of personal data and if there is a high risk to the rights and freedoms of private entities, the data subject as well as the supervisory authority will be informed of this fact.

Scott takes the protection of your personal data seriously and shall take appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized changes. General provisions:

This statement on personal data protection may be changed from time to time. The changes will come into force and effect automatically upon publication.

The processing of personal data on our website is subject to the European Union legislation, in particular the regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2016/679 of 27. April 2016 on the protection of private individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on free movement of such data and on cancellation of directive 95/46/EC (hereinafter referred to as the " directive. If any of the previous provisions should be voided in relation to the processing of personal data, it shall be replaced by a provision that is as close as possible to the basic purpose of the provision concerned.
